It can be really difficult to find a dental practice that meets your expectations. Whether you need a suitable location, a particular range of treatments, experience or expertise, finding a dentist that can tick every box may be tricky to find. However, at Align & Smile, we are proud to be located a stone’s throw away from the bright lights of Canary Wharf and are open until 7pm 3 days a week, as well as 9am to 4pm on Saturdays to fit in with your busy schedule. Not only that, but we also have a wide range of treatments to suit all of your dental needs. If you just need routine check-ups, or if you require cosmetic dental treatments or restorative work, we have got what you need with our dentist in Canary Wharf. We believe in supporting all of our patients, young or old, and we are particularly experienced at supporting those who are nervous. We want everyone to have access to great dental care and offer both private and NHS treatments. We also have walk-in dental hygiene appointments for those who need a quick boost for their smile. With a range of the latest treatments, you can get a fabulous, healthy smile with us. One treatment that can change your smile for the better is that of dental implants.

What are they?

Dental implants are used for restoring missing tooth roots and enable replacements of crowns, bridges, or dentures to be fitted securely in the mouth, 24 hours a day. Dental implants are small screws that are attached to the jawbone, where you have your missing teeth. The gums heal around them to fix them securely into place and then we can attach the prosthetics to these screws. The result is a natural looking smile that should also function naturally too.

Natural smiles

The benefit of other people not realising you don’t have all of your natural teeth is that you can relax and smile freely with dental implants, especially when you don’t have to worry about your replacement teeth loosening when you eat or when you are talking. This means that you can also continue to eat whatever you wish and you won’t have to avoid chewy or hard foods, for example. You can also easily clean your teeth afterwards by just brushing and flossing as our dentist in Canary Wharf will explain. Other than that, the only other maintenance required is to come for your routine dental check-ups.

Other benefits

By replacing missing teeth, there are some health benefits, alongside the aesthetic benefit of a beautiful smile. These include protecting any remaining natural teeth you have, and the gums, from being over-exposed to bacteria and developing further issues. You could also find that your speech is improved, along with your ability to chew food, avoiding jaw pain. You could even find that you look younger! If your face has become drawn and aged, because you suffer from missing teeth, then implants should provide the structure the skin needs to appear smoother and more youthful again, without the need for major surgery! In fact, your implants will be fitted by our dentist in Canary Wharf here at Align & Smile in just two appointments. During the first, you will have the screws attached to your jawbone, under local anaesthetic. You will then have temporary replacement teeth fixed to these. After the gums have healed for a time, you can then return to have the permanent replacement teeth placed onto the screws instead.
