Invisalign: realigning your smile the right way
If you are looking for a treatment that is discreet, convenient and efficient, then Invisalign could be the treatment you need. As our dentist in Canary Wharf, will tell you when you come to see us, Invisalign comprises plastic aligners which are worn over the teeth. As they are being worn, the aligners apply pressure to the teeth to push them into the correct position. Each week, the aligners will need to be changed and you will be provided with sets of aligners to last for 6 weeks after which time you will come for a checkup and we will give you your next 6 weeks’ worth of aligners to take home and use.
Comfort and convenience
The beauty of Invisalign is that when the aligners are being worn, they are virtually invisible because the plastic they are made from is transparent. This means that you can feel more comfortable about wearing them in public and there is no reason to avoid doing anything you would normally do. If you are unsure, you can just take your aligners out anyway. We recommend that you take your aligners out for no more than 2 hours a day, including at mealtimes and when you clean your teeth. As such, you won’t need to avoid certain foods that may be hard or chewy, for example, nor will you have to worry about not being able to clean your teeth properly. Invisalign affords patients the convenience of aligning your teeth your way.
Your aligners should also be comfortable to wear as they are made to fit your mouth bespoke. Using iTero technology, our dentist will scan your mouth digitally to acquire the measurements for aligners to be manufactured in Invisalign’s laboratories. From this, we will also be able to generate an animation in 3D of what your teeth will look like after treatment has been completed, before you even get started. We know it’s a really motivating aspect of the treatment and one you will love – boom!
